Happy Independence Day from Blue Bear and I! Last year, on our Independence Day post, we posted a bald eagle family. This year, we will be posting a different typically American animal: the American bison! According to the Animal Fact Guide’s excellent American bison article, the bison can weigh between 410-818 kg and grow up to 3.8m long. The baby bison has a reddish brown coat, as you see in the image here, and develops the characteristic hump within a few months.
