Penguin here.

According to Wikipedia’s Muskox article, musk oxen live in herds numbering 12-24 in the winter and 8-20 in the summer. Musk oxen from Arctic areas in Canada, the United States, and Greenland, and though they have the word ‘oxen’ in their name, they are actually more closely related to sheep and goats rather than oxen.

Penguin here.

I found this adorable picture on an excellent website (I’ve linked to it below) where there are tons of baby animal pictures. This little soft and cuddly musk ox calf here is actually from the Alaska Zoo and was born in 2003 (which is when this picture was taken). This picture is adorable on so many levels. First of all, the mother is gigantic in comparison to her tiny offspring. Secondly, the mother, although she is rather large, is also absolutely cute. I love how her comparatively tiny tongue is peeking out as she grooms her little calf. This picture is really just too adorable for words and I’m very glad that I stumbled upon it. Enjoy!
