I love this picture. I can just picture my sister and I sitting at a table and doing quite the same thing in quite the same way (that is, with berries, probably, since my sister isn’t a big watermelon fan). I just love this picture, because it’s such a sweet scene, and because orangutans have super goofy hair!

This is a perfect picture in so many ways. It shows the love between a mother and her infant; it shows an adorable newborn baby; it shows how protective and tired the mother is as she hugs her sweet charge. Ahh..I love this picture! It’s just so sweet, and so adorable, and it makes me want to hug my mother right now!

The other day, my friend sent me a link to this sweet article from the Daily Mail. Apparently the orangutan (Suryia) and the dog (Roscoe) are best friends. They met four years ago in Myrtle Beach and have been friends ever since thanks to The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species (TIGERS). Isn’t this picture so sweet? Look how loving the mother looks as she caresses her baby! Look how tiny and fuzzy the baby orangutan is! Could a picture get much cuter than this? This is one of those special moments in time that are always the best to catch on camera. Just so you know, this picture was taken in Dresden zoo in early 2010.
