Penguin here.

Blue Bear and I were at our local biodome this weekend when we learned something very interesting: porcupines are excellent climbers. They climb trees with ease and look super adorable while doing so. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get any good photos of the porcupines in action, so we will be sharing this picture with you instead. This baby porcupine is not only in a tree, but is snacking on a flower too!

I know that porcupines are goofy in general, but I think the African crested porcupine tops them all. Look at this guy! He’s the animal kingdom’s definition of the word punk. He has a mohawk! Seriously though, what an absolute cutie he is.

I'm punnnnnkkkkk! (And really cute)

Just so you know, their mohawks are sometimes “combed down” as you can see here with these friendly porcupines:

We prefer the classier slicked-back hairdo.

I don’t have much to say about this picture other than the obvious “it’s super adorable”! Both the mother porcupine and her baby look like they’re straight out of an 80’s hair metal band, but the style certainly suits them. It’s also sweet that they’re being so affectionate with each other.
By the way, did you know that porcupines are the third largest rodents (which I learned from Wikipedia)? They only trail the beaver and then the capybara (the largest of rodents) in size. You can always learn an interesting tidbit when consulting Wikipedia!

You have got to watch this adorable baby porcupine video I found on youtube. I won’t give too much away, but as the title of the video says, this porcupine not only adorably eats a banana, he also has the hiccups! Enjoy this special treat to help you celebrate another TGIF the “cute animal” way.
