Hey everyone.

So, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology has a live stream up at the moment of hawk eggs hatching. So far we’ve seen a crack in one egg and a beak popping out of another. It’s a slow process, but it’s definitely interesting and fun to watch. I wonder when they little ones will fully hatch! Check it out:

Penguin here.

I have a brief anecdote to share with you guys. Last year, in May, Blue Bear and I were in my backyard throwing a ball around. From the corner of my eye, I spotted a raccoon climbing one of the wooden poles holding up the electrical wires in the neighbouring backyard. He saw us, and we saw him. He froze in place, worried that we would hurt him. To add to his worries, the pole to which he clung for dear life was not the sturdiest. Knowing that if we stayed where we were and continued playing, he would be frightened and remain on the pole, we put our ball down and slowly went back into the house. From the window, we spotted him thankfully climbing down the wooden pole to safety. This little raccoon encounter was very goofy. We couldn’t but pity the poor raccoon who was scared of us, even though we would never hurt him.

This raccoon picture reminds me of the little critter we saw that day. He was definitely just as cute as this guy!

I can’t help but wonder how that golden retriever puppy got there, and if Mother Hen realizes what it is she’s sitting on. This is so cute. I hope her little chick on the left doesn’t feel too left out. There is just so much goofiness in this picture!

After a snowstorm that came along a few days ago, we are finally seeing some true Spring weather here now. When I stumbled upon this adorable picture, I realized that it represented just how much we all appreciate Spring, and felt that it was the perfect picture to post in honour of the warmer weather. Not only do we appreciate it, but so do all the animals. Enjoy the newly-budding flowers, goofy animals (like this squirrel) and the birds chirping: all welcome signs of this beautiful season.

This certainly looks like an adorable (and romantic moment) caught on camera. As we’ve mentioned in an earlier prairie dog post, prairie dogs don’t actually kiss, but put their teeth together as a method of recognizing each other. How cute is that?

Hey everyone. It’s been a little while since I’ve made a post because I’ve been quite busy. Penguin has been doing a wonderful job keeping things going without me, though. Thanks, Penguin! Anyway, I was trying to figure out what to post today and I wanted to post something we’ve not seen in a little while, so I looked through and saw the category for weasels. It’s been a decent amount of time since we’ve posted one, so I figured why not. Look at this little guy, enjoying some milk so he can grow up big and strong. It makes me smile to see something so cute having a yummy meal!

Mmm! This milk is delicious!

As you are well aware by now, We love koala bears here on ACAD. We hope you enjoy our latest addition to our koala bear category. Can you just imagine how comfortable it must be to hug a koala? This happy koala family looks so content and unbelievably adorable!

According to the article from Zooborns, three koalas gave birth to joeys in the Summer of 2012 in the Taipei zoo, Taiwan. These pictures are from a few months after the birth (as, according to the Wikipedia’s Koala article, joeys do not fully emerge from their mother’s pouch until six to seven months of age).

I’m not sure who I’d rather cuddle with: this adorable corgi or the octopus plushy he’s cuddling with. Scratch that, I’d choose to cuddle with the corgi for sure! What a cutie this little shrimp is. When I was little, I used to sleep with dolls too. I hope I looked even 1/2 as cute doing so!
